Tamara Broadhead

Tamara Broadhead

Dr. Tamara Broadhead has a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) degree from Idaho State University with licensing as a nurse practitioner and board certifications in family practice (2017) and a post graduate certification in psychiatric advanced practice nursing from Rocky Mountain University (2019). She has a diverse background with 20 years of experience in health care, first as an office manager and administrator for medical offices and then as an RN with a background in adult acute care, chronic pain management, pediatric and adult home health, medical-surgical, orthopedics, and urgent and emergent care. After completion of several years of graduate and post graduate studies, she opened a private family and psychiatric practice while also serving as the medical director for Utah Behavior Services, a company specializing in behavior health services for children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum. Throughout her nursing career, she has also been an Assistant Professor and clinical instructor for several nursing colleges and universities in the Salt Lake area at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Dr. Broadhead practices in all areas with the philosophy that physical and mental health are inseparable and inter-dependent, and that optimal health is achieved through implementing several modalities of treatment such as evidenced-based, patient specific, and at times, alternative and complementary therapies. While treatment of chronic conditions is a necessity for her patients, Dr. Broadhead’s passion is teaching her patients, students, and peers the importance of prevention of conditions that impair functionality and create barriers to an overall ideal quality of life.

Dr. Broadhead and her husband have a combined family of 9 adult children and 6 grandchildren that keep them very busy. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and listening to music, reading, traveling, and almost any and all outdoor activities, especially if her children and grandchildren are with her.
